Daily Juice 092 – Holiday Prep- Increase Income (Ask for pay increase)

We’ve been talking about different ways of earning extra income to make sure this holiday season doesn’t put a strain on your financial plan.

We talked about various ways to increase income outside of your core employment. But why not look at what you do on the daily basis and assess whether there is an opportunity to earn more income.

Here is what I propose:

  1. Ask for a raise – when was the last time you had a bump in your pay? The holiday season tends to be the time of the year when people are more generous. You might think this a silly thing, but you know what, if you don’t ask you don’t get. So, toughen up and approach your boss and make him/her an irresistible offer of what you will do or have done to deserve this pay increase. As long as you can show the value and explain how your contributions will benefit them, you’ll be on the right track.
  2. For those of us who are self-employed or run a business – remember where your income comes from? Your clients, who either buy your service or a product. So, pick up a phone a reach out to them. You should be thinking about what else can you do for them, how can you add more value to their experience so that they buy more from you?

I can’t wait to hear what worked for you.
