What Employee Benefits Aren’t You Using?

What Employee Benefits Aren’t You Using?

We’re getting close to Open Enrollment time! This is a great opportunity to take a look at the benefits your company provides that perhaps you haven’t been using. You might have bypassed these useful benefits as you were skimming through the Employee Benefits booklet looking to see if you get time off to vote.

You might have a category of benefits called Employee Assistance. This could involve anything from discussing workplace issues, legal consultation, eldercare concerns or financial advice. Let’s stop for a moment on getting free financial advice through work. Why wouldn’t you ask for financial advice? If you have a question, it makes sense to seek out this benefit if your company already offers it.

At MainStreet, we provide a service to businesses called Money@Work where WE are the advisors! I’ve been fortunate to be on the receiving end of these calls and I think it is terrific when someone reaches out for help. Some of the time, all they need is a little guidance or a small tweak to the great work they’re already doing. Check your employee benefits to see if you have free access to a financial planner. The sooner you reach out, the faster you can make a plan to meet your goals and eliminate financial stress!

What other employee benefits can you use?
