Daily Juice 040 – More sleep, increased income

Let’s face it, just like meal intake, sleep is one of the most important activities of our day. What happens if you don’t get enough sleep? Oh I, know from my experience, I get cranky, easily irritated, low back hurts, distracted. Who wants to operate in that kind of state, but sometimes we don’t have a choice.

There has been a number of studies and research done about how adding just one hour of sleep per night has the potential to increase the earnings by 16%, according to the American Time Survey. Now, that’s some serious thought to consider.

My question to you, is what can you do if your income increased by 16% and all you had to do is just sleep for one extra hour? I think it’s doable!

Here are a few tips for you to consider:

  1. Go to be at the same time. This helps keep your circadian rhythm in place. It’s your internal “body clock”. Weekends are tough, as my of us like to catch up on sleep, but that works against you as your “body clock” get off balance. So go to be at the same time and wake up at the same time.
  2. Turn off your electronics 30 minutes before falling asleep.  Instead, you can read a book, meditate or spend some quality time with your loved one.
  3. Make your bedroom a sleep-only zone. Some people work or eat there. Make it a sacred place.

What are you doing on the daily basis that helps you ensure you get your Zss in?
