Team Member Spotlight – Liz Gillette
When did you join the MS team? February 2018
What was your favorite project MainStreet has completed? I love the annual report we put out last year. It recapped what we had accomplished personally and professionally in 2019. It gave our clients a peek into who we are as individuals. I’m very curious to see what the 2020 report looks like. My prediction: hiking photos and couch pictures.
What are you reading? The Whole-Brained Child by Dr. Daniel Siegel and Dr. Tina Bryson, and Do Less by Kate Northrup.
Favorite childhood memory? My parents took our family of seven to the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. I was obsessed with gymnastics and witnessed the infamous moment where Kerri Strug clinched the first-ever team gold medal on an injured ankle. It was incredible.
Favorite ice cream flavor? It’s important you know I’ve worked at not one but three ice cream shops, so I’m a bit of a connoisseur here. Lately, I’m reaching for Birthday Cake Remix at Cold Stone.
Recent event you attended/place you visited that you loved? I’ve lived in the DC area for fifteen years and had heard wonderful things about Deep Creek, Maryland. I had an opportunity to visit earlier this month and it was gorgeous. My family quarantined, got tested, and celebrated Halloween in a cabin overlooking the lake. 15/10 would recommend.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what’s the one thing you’d bring with you? Hand sanitizer? Haha. I wonder how long it will take for these 2020 thoughts to be replaced with normal thoughts. Anyone else find themselves watching shows and getting uncomfortable when the characters are not maintaining appropriate distance?
Where were you born? Reading, PA. Hometown of our girl Taylor Swift and the woman who fell into a fountain while texting and walking. Seriously, just google “woman mall fountain texting”.
Tell us about your family? I am one of five children (fourth child, first girl) in an Irish Catholic family of athletes. I met my husband Brandon in college at George Washington University. He’s one of the best guys there is – smart, kind, ambitious, handy. We have two kids: Bailey turns four after Christmas, and Chase is one. That’s my tribe
What is one item on your bucket list? Visiting Greece!
